Depending on the audience we have two styles of press release

York kids to showcase artistic talent in a unique art exhibition

YorKAOS is a free public art exhibition being held at SPARK:York during the February half-term holiday in 2025. Pronounced “Your Chaos” YorKAOS stands for York Kids Art Open Studios. The exhibition is the inspiration of eight-year-old Ada Jobling, who was motivated by the York Open Studios event, and wanted to showcase the artwork of young artists aged 5 to 11 from the York area. The committee behind the exhibition is made up of Ada and her friends who are passionate about celebrating the creativity of their peers.

The exhibition welcomes various forms of visual art, including painting, drawing, photography, collage, and video. Artists can choose to sell their work with the proceeds being donated to St. Leonard’s Hospice, BBC Children in Need and Explore York.

Ada and the committee have worked hard over the last six months, to partner with SPARK:York as the venue, and gained the support of Explore York to use their main Explore libraries in York city centre, Acomb, Clifton and Tang Hall as art collection points during the last two weeks of January.

YorKAOS has been awarded a grant from Lions International to fund the promotion of the art exhibition, with every school in York receiving posters and flyers.

Schools, HE Groups and young artists can learn more about the exhibition through the YorKAOS website www.yorkaos.art

Calling all Young Artists!

YorKAOS, a free public art exhibition, is coming to SPARK:York during the February half-term holiday in 2025. YorKAOS (pronounced “Your Chaos”) stands for York Kids Art Open Studios. It all started with Ada Jobling’s idea to showcase artwork by young artists aged 5 to 11 from York, just like the York Open Studios event.

The exhibition welcomes all kinds of visual art: paintings, drawings, photos, collages, and even videos! You can choose to sell your work, with proceeds going to great causes like St. Leonard’s Hospice, BBC Children in Need, and Explore York.

Over the past six months, Ada and her friends have been busy planning. They secured SPARK:York as the venue and partnered with Explore York to use their main Explore libraries (city centre, Acomb, Clifton, and Tang Hall) as art collection points in the last two weeks of January. Lions International also awarded a grant to fund the promotion of the exhibition, so every school in York will receive posters and flyers!
