General Information
What is the theme of the exhibition?
There is no theme for the exhibition, the aim is to showcase York’s young artists
What age groups are represented in the exhibition?
Young artists who are of primary school age, between 5 to 11 years old
When is the exhibition open to the public?
The exhibition during the February 2025 half-term holiday, from Tuesday 18th to Friday 21st.
How do I get my art to the exhibition?
We are currently in discussion with Explore York to use their libraries and cafes as collection points for you to drop off your artwork over two weeks in January 2025.
Is there an opening event?
Yes! We will be an opening event, for all of the exhibited artists, their friends and family.
Is there a closing event?
We are currently in discussion with DJ Solo from Bombsquad about putting on a final day closing event.
Is there a cost to enter the exhibition?
There is no cost to enter the exhibition, we want to see your art!
Is photography allowed in the exhibition?
To be decided, however we are expecting a large number of families to attend this would be almost impossible to stop photographs being taken.
Are there any accessibility features in place?
Yes, the exhibition space at SPARK* is fully accessible.
Visiting the Exhibition
Is there an admission fee?
There is no admission fee
Where is the exhibition being hold?

When is the exhibition open to the public?
The exhibition during the February 2025 half-term holiday, from Tuesday 18th to Friday 21st.
Is car parking available?
Yes, York city centre is full of car parks
Are there public transportation options to the exhibition?
York city centre is served by many bus routes
Are there any age restrictions for attending the exhibition?
During the day time there are no age restrictions.
Are there facilities for changing babies and toddlers?
Yes, SPARK* have excellent facilities
Is there a cafe or food on site?
Yes, SPARK* has a great selection of food, SPARK Traders
Are there any educational programs or workshops associated with the exhibition?
At present there is no expectation to hold educational programs or workshops. It’s our first exhibition, and the committee is made up of four young artists – we are trying to keep it simple
About the Artwork
What types of art are featured in the exhibition?
We are accepting most types of visual art, including painting, drawing, photography, collage, video and sculpture. We are not accepting music
How were the artworks selected for the exhibition?
At present this is not a problem we face, we do not know how many young artists will submit their work. Our aim is to show them all!
Can I purchase artwork from the exhibition?
Yes, we have given the artists the choice to sell their work, with all of the money being donated to St. Leonard’s Hospice and BBC Children In Need
How can I learn more about the artists?
To maintain the anonymity of the young artists we will only be displaying their first name and their age, ie: “Seth, 8”
Practical Information
How can I volunteer at the exhibition?
We have a good team behind the committee already and are not currently looking for volunteers, however this might change and we’ll keep you updated
