We have some amazing news to share! The YorKAOS committee attended the BBC Radio York Make A Difference Awards ceremony at York Racecourse, and we were awarded Highly Commended in The Young Hero Award category!
It was an incredible afternoon celebrating inspiring people and community champions from York and North Yorkshire. We had nice food and BBC Make A Difference cupcakes! We met other finalists, an olympic athlete, TV celebrities and the Mayoress of York.

After the award ceremony, we jumped on a bus to SPARK* for the “Raise the Roof 2026” party!
This award really belongs to everyone who has supported YorKAOS from a simple question asked in 2024 to a multi-year city-wide art exhibition!!!!
Our young artists: The 400+ children from across York and surrounding villages who created brilliant artwork and generously put it up for sale to help others.
Our venue & local collection points: SPARK:York for giving our creative chaos a home in the city centre, and Explore York Libraries for collecting artwork from every corner of town and beyond
